Lesson Policy

  • Lesson payments are due on the last lesson day of the month for the next full month of lessons. If payments are not received on/by the last lesson day of the month the studio will call/text the student’s home. If payment is not received on the first lesson of the new month, there will be a $15 late fee charge.
  • The studio accepts checks or cash. Returned checks will be charged a $20 returned check fee.
  • There is a one time, non-refundable $20 registration charge when a student signs up for the first month of lessons. If a student stops taking lessons for 4 weeks or longer, the $20 registration fee will be charged again. (We encourage students to continue taking lessons on a regular basis to show the maximum results of their work.)
  • The studio must be notified by 10:00 am on the day of the lesson in case of cancellation to receive a makeup time option. We will make every effort to find a time that works best for student and teacher to make up missed lesson time. If no makeup possible, then a credit will be applied to the next month’s fee. (In order to have qualified and dedicated teachers on board we need to maintain teacher’s livelihood.) Weekend students have to notify studio by 6:00 pm on Friday to be able to reschedule their lessons. If you fail to show up for a lesson, or did not notify the studio in time, students have forfeited the lesson. Missed makeup lessons cannot be made up.
  • Students wishing to discontinue lessons have to give OMS a minimum of two weeks of notice. You will be responsible for the payment of the two weeks if no notice is given.
  • In case of inclement weather, closing status will be posted on WTHN/Channel 8.
  • OMS holds Winter and Spring recitals. Participation is not mandatory but highly encouraged. Students who participate in recitals stick to practice and taking lessons longer than students who do not.
